What an incredible start to the school year! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Meet & Greet event. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as students met their teachers and reconnected with friends. We appreciate your partnership in helping us kick off another amazing year at Wickman!
As we prepare for the first day of school, please review our daily schedule and arrival procedures:
Morning Schedule

7:20 a.m. – Breakfast begins

7:30 a.m. – Campus gates open for student entry

7:47 a.m. – Line-up bell rings

7:50 a.m. – Classroom instruction begins

7:50 a.m. – Campus gates lock
Students arriving after 7:50 a.m. will be marked tardy and must be signed in through the school office before reporting to class.
Arrival & Dismissal
To help ensure a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal, the two gates located along our drop-off/pick-up parking lot will be open for student use.
For the safety of our students and families, we ask that anyone walking to school use the sidewalk adjacent to the park and enter campus through the gate near the school playground. This helps reduce congestion in the parking lot and keeps everyone safe.
Closed Campus
Please remember that all Chino Valley Unified School District schools are closed campuses. During the school day, only students are permitted to enter campus unless they have signed in through the front office as an approved visitor or volunteer.
Second Step Preview Days
At Wickman Elementary, we are committed to supporting every student's academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success. As part of this commitment, all students participate in Second Step, an evidence-based social-emotional learning program used throughout Chino Valley Unified School District for students in Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Second Step teaches important life skills such as:
- Managing emotions
- Building positive relationships
- Solving problems
- Making responsible decisions
- Setting goals
Families who would like to learn more are invited to preview the curriculum with our counselor, Ms. Nguyen, before classroom instruction begins.
